Tooth Extraction & Bone Grafting

Post-Operative Care Instructions

Surgical Procedures

This procedure involves the removal of a tooth — often one that is root canal treated and asymptomatic — combined with bone grafting to preserve jaw integrity. Our holistic approach emphasizes natural healing and long-term oral balance.

Post-Procedure Care

Follow these guidelines to support your recovery and healing

Immediate Post-Operative Care

  • Ice Application: Use ice packs on the affected area for 15–20 minutes at a time during the first 48 hours to minimize swelling.
  • Pressure & Clot Protection: Gently bite on gauze for 30–45 minutes post-extraction. Avoid spitting or forceful rinsing to protect the blood clot.

Diet & Activity

  • Diet: Stick to a soft, cool diet for the first 3–5 days. Nutrient-rich soups, smoothies, and mashed vegetables are recommended.
  • Activity: Rest and avoid strenuous activities for 48–72 hours to allow the graft and extraction site to stabilize.

Oral Hygiene

  • Rinsing: After the first 24 hours, rinse gently with a saline or herbal chamomile solution.
  • Brushing: Resume brushing carefully away from the extraction site using a soft brush and holistic oral care products.

Holistic & Natural Support

  • Herbal Supplements: If advised, use natural anti-inflammatory supplements (turmeric, arnica) as directed by your provider.
  • Mind-Body Techniques: Practice stress-reduction techniques to support your body's natural healing process.
