Removable Prosthesis (Dentures)
Post-Operative Care Instructions
Restorative Procedures
The fabrication and placement of a removable prosthesis (dentures) involve custom-fit design and careful adjustment to restore function and aesthetics. Our holistic approach emphasizes comfort, biocompatibility, and long-term oral health.
Post-Procedure Care
Follow these guidelines to support your recovery and healing
Immediate Post-Operative Care
- Adaptation: Allow time for your mouth to adjust to the new prosthesis. Remove and clean the appliance as instructed.
- Soreness Management: Mild soreness is normal; use a cool, damp cloth on the affected areas if needed.
Diet & Activity
- Diet: Begin with soft, non-abrasive foods for the first 3–5 days. Gradually reintroduce firmer foods as you adjust to the prosthesis.
- Activity: Resume normal activities, but avoid activities that may dislodge the prosthesis during the initial adjustment phase.
Oral Hygiene
- Cleaning the Prosthesis: Clean the appliance daily using a non-abrasive cleanser and warm water.
- Mouth Care: Maintain a regular oral hygiene routine with a soft-bristled brush and natural toothpaste to care for your gums and remaining teeth.
Holistic & Natural Support
- Herbal Rinses: Use a diluted herbal rinse (e.g., sage or chamomile) to soothe any irritation.
- Fit Adjustments: Practice mindful chewing and note any discomfort to address with your provider for timely adjustments.
