Periodontal / Laser Surgery
Post-Operative Care Instructions
Surgical Procedures
Periodontal surgery is performed to treat advanced gum disease, reduce pocket depths, and restore healthy gum tissue. Our approach integrates conventional techniques with holistic care to support systemic health.
Post-Procedure Care
Follow these guidelines to support your recovery and healing
Immediate Post-Operative Care
- Rest & Cool Compress: Apply cool compresses intermittently during the first 24–48 hours to reduce swelling.
- Rinsing: Avoid vigorous rinsing for the first 24 hours. After this period, rinse gently with a warm saline or herbal solution (e.g., chamomile).
Diet & Activity
- Diet: Maintain a soft, anti-inflammatory diet for 3–5 days — choose nutrient-rich broths, smoothies, and mashed vegetables.
- Activity: Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities for 48–72 hours; light walking is recommended.
Oral Hygiene
- Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush and natural toothpaste; avoid the surgical site until initial healing is observed.
- Flossing: Resume gentle flossing as advised by your provider to prevent plaque accumulation without disturbing healing tissues.
Holistic & Natural Support
- Herbal Supplements: Use any recommended natural anti-inflammatory agents (e.g., turmeric, green tea extract) to support healing.
- Stress Management: Engage in gentle relaxation practices to promote overall wellness.
