Dental Implant Placement

Post-Operative Care Instructions

Surgical Procedures

Replace a missing tooth with a stable, metal-free option, placed by a team that plans around how your body heals.

Dental implant placement replaces the root of a missing tooth with a small post that anchors into your jawbone. Once the bone grows around the post, it holds a crown that looks and works like a natural tooth. At Central Dentist, every placement is planned with 3D CBCT imaging so the implant sits at the right position and depth before any surgery begins.

Dr. Sahil Sawnani leads implant placement at the practice. He completed advanced implant and sinus lift training, studied the Zero Bone Loss protocols developed by Dr. Tomas Linkevicius, and places both ceramic and titanium implants based on what fits your health goals. For patients who want a metal-free option, he places biocompatible ceramic implants using techniques he trained in at the Swiss Biohealth Clinic.

Every case is guided by the biological philosophy that founder Dr. Jill Rosellini Ombrello built the practice around, which means biocompatible materials and a minimally invasive technique. To help you heal faster, the team often uses platelet-rich fibrin drawn from your own blood. The goal is a tooth replacement that works well and protects your overall health.

Post-Procedure Care

Follow these guidelines to support your recovery and healing

Immediate Post-Operative Care

  • Ice & Rest: Apply ice packs to the surgical area intermittently during the first 48 hours. Rest and limit head movement.
  • Hemostasis: Use gauze as directed to control bleeding and protect the initial blood clot.

Diet & Activity

  • Diet: Follow a soft-food diet for 5–7 days. Prioritize cool, nutrient-dense meals such as smoothies, soups, and pureed vegetables.
  • Activity: Avoid strenuous exercise and heavy lifting for at least 72 hours. Gentle walking is encouraged.

Oral Hygiene

  • Rinsing: Begin rinsing gently with a saline or herbal solution (aloe vera, chamomile) after the first 24 hours.
  • Brushing: Brush carefully around the implant site using a soft-bristled brush and holistic oral care products.

Holistic & Natural Support

  • Natural Supplements: Follow any prescribed natural anti-inflammatory protocols (e.g., turmeric or arnica) to support healing.
  • Stress Reduction: Practice meditation or gentle yoga to enhance systemic healing responses.
