Dental Filling (Composite)

Post-Operative Care Instructions

Restorative Procedures

Composite dental fillings restore decayed areas while preserving tooth structure. Our holistic care integrates biocompatible materials and natural post-treatment care to promote long-term oral health.

Post-Procedure Care

Follow these guidelines to support your recovery and healing

Immediate Post-Operative Care

  • Rest: Allow the filled tooth to settle; avoid immediate heavy use or biting down on that side of the mouth.
  • Sensitivity Management: Mild sensitivity may occur; apply a cool compress externally if needed.

Diet & Activity

  • Diet: For 24–48 hours, avoid extreme temperatures. Choose soft, nutrient-dense foods that promote overall tissue repair.
  • Activity: Normal activity can usually be resumed immediately; however, be gentle on the treated area.

Oral Hygiene

  • Brushing: Use a soft-bristled brush and holistic toothpaste to clean gently around the filled area.
  • Flossing: Resume flossing once the sensitivity subsides, taking care not to disturb the restoration.

Holistic & Natural Support

  • Herbal Rinses: A gentle rinse with chamomile or sage-infused water can soothe any mild discomfort.
  • Dietary Focus: Incorporate foods high in antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids to support cell regeneration.

When to Contact Our Office

Persistent sensitivity beyond 72 hours or any sharp pain when chewing should be reported.

Follow-Up Appointment

A follow-up check may be scheduled to ensure the filling is stable and the tooth is responding well to treatment.
